At the Moffitt Family Foundation, we are dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders in North Carolina through youth development, academic support, and scholarship opportunities. We believe in fostering the potential of young people to shape a brighter future, providing them with the tools and resources to succeed. Additionally, we extend a helping hand through humanitarian aid and disaster relief, offering hope and support in times of crisis. Our mission is to create an inspired, resilient, and prepared community, ready to build a better tomorrow.
Supporting Youth in Education and Health
At the core of our mission is a commitment to fostering the success and well-being of children. By providing educational resources, school supplies, and other essential support, we aim to help youth thrive academically and personally, giving them the tools they need to succeed.
Disaster Relief for Communities in Need
When natural disasters strike, we respond quickly to provide immediate relief. Through hot meals, necessities, and emergency support, we ensure that communities in Western North Carolina are cared for in times of crisis.

Our story
The Moffitt Family Foundation was founded in 2023 by Dr. Brad Moffitt and his family, inspired by a deep commitment to serve the communities of Western North Carolina. Dr. Brad’s passion for youth education stems from his own roots—his parents were both dedicated public school teachers in North Carolina for a combined 80-years. Their lifelong dedication to nurturing children left a lasting impression, and Dr. Brad has carried on their legacy by making education and youth care the cornerstone of the Foundation’s mission.
Beyond education, The Moffitt Family Foundation extends its focus to natural disaster relief, helping those who face sudden and life-altering challenges. The Foundation’s work ensures that families in Western North Carolina have the support they need, whether through providing hot meals after a natural disaster or distributing supplies to those areas in need.
The creation of The Moffitt Family Foundation was a natural extension of the charitable efforts Dr. Brad had already been spearheading for years through his practice, Carolina Chiropractic Plus, in Shelby, North Carolina. Over time, Dr. Brad realized the need to formalize and expand these efforts in order to provide more comprehensive support to the community. By working with other organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland County, the Cleveland County Schools Education Foundation, the Herren Project, and United Way Worldwide, Dr. Brad and his family have been able to amplify the positive impact they have on those around them.
For Dr. Brad, the Foundation is about more than just charity—it’s about meeting people where they are, offering real support to families in crisis, and helping children not only survive but thrive. His unwavering dedication to giving back to the community fuels the Foundation’s initiatives and drives its mission to make a tangible, lasting difference.
Today, the Moffitt Family Foundation continues to grow, uniting volunteers, donors, and partners to uplift the next generation and support communities in times of need. Together, we are carrying forward a legacy of care, compassion, and community.
